Uzbekistan is ensuring social protection of the population amid COVID-19 outbreak

A number of Presidential decrees adopted in Uzbekistan to address the social protection and the support of economy challenges amid coronavirus outbreak. Special Republican Commission for preventing the spread of coronavirus, headed by the Prime-Minister, from day one has been taking bold steps to contain the epidemic.

COVID-19: Uzbekistan introduces additional preferences for businesses

Uzbekistan adopted additional measures to support businesses and people at times of pandemic. The decree was signed by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on May 18.

60 self-employed occupations in Uzbekistan are exempted from income tax

Uzbek government is continuing to support business. For the last two months, the country has adopted 12 Presidential decrees to mitigate the impact of pandemic on the well-being of people and the economy. As a result, more than 500 thousand businesses and 8 million citizens received preferences totaling 30 trillion soums.

Citizens affected from flooding in Syrdarya region will receive financial assistance

More than 65 thousand out of 90 thousand people evacuated from flooded areas in Syrdarya region due to partial dam collapse in Sardoba district returned back to their homes.

Restoration works in Syrdarya region will be completed until September 1

As stated earlier, on May 1, 2020, Sardoba dam wall in Syrdarya region saw the partial collapse.
