Kuwaiti companies are interested in importing products and goods from Uzbekistan
EL KUWAIT. A round table was organized at the Embassy of Uzbekistan, which was attended by the heads of local importing companies - Al-Azraq fruits, Abdulla Gadnan, Azimuth gen TRD and Advance Technology Company, Hawazin Regional Trading Co, and also "Jazeera airways.
The participants were provided with detailed information on the socio-economic development of Uzbekistan, including in the context of regions, the economic and export potential of the country and its regions.
It was emphasized that in January-April the foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan reached 17.2 billion US dollars. Compared to the corresponding period last year, this figure increased by $6.5 billion.
To date, Uzbekistan has trade relations with 160 countries of the world. The largest volume of foreign trade turnover was recorded with China (16.6%), Russia (14.2%), Kazakhstan (7.5%), Turkey (5.9%), the Republic of Korea (4.8%), Germany (2 .9%) and Kyrgyzstan (1.7%). In this context, it was noted that the level of trade between Uzbekistan and the countries of the Persian Gulf, including Kuwait, is low compared to other states and does not meet the potential and capabilities of the parties.
The participants of the "round table" exchanged views and their proposals on the import of Uzbek agricultural products, medical and textile products to Kuwait. Various options for the delivery of goods and products along various international transport corridors were also considered. It was noted that in the current period, the most optimal route for exports to the countries of the Persian Gulf is the transport corridor "Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Kuwait".
For the export of fresh agricultural products, it was proposed to use direct flights on the route Kuwait-Tashkent-El Kuwait. Jazeera Airways Logistics Manager Abrar Parkar pointed out the readiness of the airline's management to provide services for the delivery of goods from Uzbekistan at the most economical and optimal price.
Ahmad al-Otaibi, President of Hawazin Regional Trading Co, noted that as part of his participation in the Tashkent Investment Forum, he visited the Uychi district of Namangan region. As a result of the visit, an agreement was reached with local partners to resume the activities of the Kuwait-Namangan company established in 2019 and organize the export of agricultural products.
The President of Abdulla Gadnan, Najem al-Shammari, highly appreciated the results of the negotiations with BMB on the sidelines of the Tashkent Investment Forum. He stressed that the parties agreed to cooperate in the supply of dried fruits to Kuwait.
