A Meeting of Supreme Court Chairmen of the SCO Member States
Uzbekistan delegation led by the Chairman of the Supreme Court of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Islamov took part in the 17th Meeting of the Chairmen of the Supreme Courts of the SCO Member States in Dushanbe under the chairmanship of Tajikistan.
The meeting was attended by the chairmen and judges of the Supreme Courts of India, China, Pakistan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
The meeting was also attended by the chairmen and judges of the supreme courts of the observer countries – Belarus, Iran, SCO Deputy Secretary-General G. Logvinov and Deputy Director of the Executive Committee of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure of the SCO A. Golovanov. The parties discussed current issues of justice of mutual interest and considered prospects for cooperation in various areas of legal proceedings.
In particular, issues related to the practice of applying the national legislation of the SCO member states while considering disputes on the appointment of alternative types of punishment, the bankruptcy of individuals and legal entities were discussed. Joint experience in cybercrime cases was also exchanged at the event.
The participants also discussed the use of artificial intelligence and robotics in adoption cases and court proceedings.
Kazakhstan and Russian delegations’ members shared their experience in administrative justice and administrative proceedings with colleagues.
The parties focused on the issues of improving justice in the SCO region, exchanging experience that will serve to ensure sustainable development, organizing and holding international conferences, and joint training programs.
According to the protocol signed following the meeting, the 18th Meeting of the Chairmen of the Supreme Courts of the SCO Member States will be held in India in 2023.
