Сultural and humanitarian cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kuwait
In August 1996, a representative office of the International Islamic Charity Organization (IICO) of Kuwait was opened in Tashkent.
On May 13-15, 1997, Ahmad al-Sabah, President of the Olympic Council of Asia, a member of the ruling family of Kuwait, visited our country, and was received by the President of the Uzbekistan. He presented the President of Uzbekistan with a gold medal of the Olympic Council of Asia.
Minister of Justice and Religious Affairs of Kuwait Ahmad Khaled Al-Kulaib (October 1998), Minister of Justice and Religious Affairs Abdullah Al-Matuk, Minister of National and Higher Education Nuri Al-Sabah (August 2007), and the Chairman of the Kuwait International Islamic Charity Organization (IICO), Adviser of Emir A.Al-Matuq (May 2014) visited Uzbekistan.
Representatives of Uzbekistan and Kuwait regularly take part in various cultural and humanitarian events organized in the two countries.
Kuwaiti music groups regularly take part in the “Sharq Taronalari” International Music Festival. In 2007, a group of representatives from the Kuwait Higher institute of musical arts won the Grand Prix of the festival.
On December 16-21, 2017, in Kuwait were organized “Cultural Days of Uzbekistan”.
On September 6-10, 2018, a delegation led by the Deputy Secretary-General of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Literature of the State of Kuwait Bader al-Duwaish participated in the International Forum “The Art of Maqom” held in Shakhrisabz.
In 2018, 2019 and 2020, concerts of the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan and an exhibition of Uzbek national applied arts were organized in Kuwait.
On September 10-15, 2019, the president of the Asia Pacific Regional Organization of the World Crafts Council based in Kuwait Gada Qaddumi and artisans from Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain attended in the First International Handicrafts Festival, held in Kokand, Uzbekistan.
On May 21-25, 2022, Kuwaiti artisans, Kuwait TV announcer Azari Muhammad and director Muhsin Rahimi participated in the First International Festival of Embroidery and Jewelry, which took place in Bukhara city.
The event was also attended by the Saad al-Qaddumi, President of the World Crafts Council, who presented the mayor of Bukhara with a certificate "Bukhara - World Craft City".
