Italian investors plan to expand their activities in Uzbekistan

Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov has met with the President of the investment group Berlusconi Finanzaria Paolo Berlusconi and the President of the Energy System Roberto Tucci.

The parties discussed the prospects for establishing and expanding the investment activities of Italian entrepreneurs in Uzbekistan.

Our partners expressed their interest in the implementation of major projects in energy and household waste processing. Plans were announced to increase the volume of saffron grown in Uzbekistan regions.

Cooperation in this direction will strengthen the position of Uzbekistan farmers in this commodity niche on the international market and create additional jobs.

The parties considered all the existing issues related to the implementation of these projects, and developed mechanisms for interaction for their prompt resolution, which will speed up the process of implementing joint plans.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to support an active and regular dialogue to accelerate the progress of the considered projects.
