Uzbekistan: Voting in the elections has begun
The elections of deputies to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and Local Councils began in Uzbekistan today, October 27, 2024, at 08:00.
According to the Constitution, citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan have the right to elect and be elected to representative bodies of state authority.
Each voter has one vote. The right to vote, equality, and freedom of expression are guaranteed by law.
Today, Uzbekistan residents and citizens who live in other countries for work and study are exercising their constitutional right to vote.
According to Article 51 of the Election Code, voting will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on the election day.
Voting at the polling stations established at diplomatic and other representative offices of the Republic of Uzbekistan in foreign countries will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. local time on the day of the election.
Citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan who have reached the age of eighteen before or on election day have the right to vote.
According to the Central Election Commission, 19 million 944 thousand 859 voters were registered in this election.
More than ten thousand polling stations are ready for citizens to vote.
Importantly, measures to maintain public order and safety during the elections, protect electoral districts and precincts from emergency situations and fire safety, provide uninterrupted electricity to the buildings where election commissions are located, and resolve other organizational issues have been resolved.
Every voter exercises their constitutional right and votes for the future by participating in an important political process.
