Localization and export tasks have been set
On December 5, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a presentation on priority tasks in the automotive industry for 2025.
This theme was discussed last month, and those responsible were instructed to review the plans critically. During the current presentation, improved measures developed based on the President’s instructions were presented.
First, the emphasis was on increasing production volumes and improving quality. Currently, more than 400,000 cars are sold annually. Due to the growth of household incomes, this trend is projected to continue in the coming years, creating opportunities for manufacturing products that meet demand.
In addition, Uzbekistan is expected to become a member of the World Trade Organization, which will increase competition in the market for local manufacturers significantly. Therefore, the President emphasized the need to improve product quality and increase the level of localization.
In particular, by localizing 60 parts for BYD cars in 2025, the cost of electric vehicles can be reduced. This company’s leadership highly appreciated the potential of domestic enterprises. In this regard, the task was set to use the capabilities of the Localization Assistance Center and double the volume of production within the framework of cooperation with regional enterprises.
Another important issue was exports. In recent years, more than 40,000 auto kits have been exported to neighboring countries. Next year, exports are planned to increase to more than $700 million. At the same time, the need to bring enterprises producing buses and trucks in Samarkand to foreign markets was noted.
The Head of state focused on the industry’s economic and social significance. He emphasized the importance of adapting to modern requirements, ensuring stable production, and ongoing work on marketing and product quality.
