Uzbekistan-Kuwait: Strengthening Friendly Ties
In recent years, under the direct leadership of the President, New Uzbekistan has been strengthening close cooperation with the global community across various fields, including cultural, economic, and tourism exchanges.
The international community also supports and acknowledges the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan.
Practical outcomes were showcased during presentations on Uzbekistan’s investment, export, and tourism potential, organized by the country’s embassy in Kuwait. Discussions covered the development of foreign trade, the activities of free economic and industrial zones in Uzbekistan, the favorable conditions created for foreign investors, and the advancement of modern tourism infrastructure.
Examples of close cooperation include launching direct flights from Kuwait City to Tashkent and Namangan by Jazeera Airways. As a result of the simplified visa regime, citizens of Kuwait and 90 other foreign countries now have the right to visa-free entry into Uzbekistan. Kuwaiti travelers have shown great interest in gastronomic, ecological, and winter tourism destinations and tourist attractions developed in Uzbekistan’s mountainous regions.
Kuwaiti businesses are also actively engaged, with large-scale projects being implemented through public-private partnerships. Negotiations with potential employers and recruitment companies in Kuwait are being held to attract qualified Uzbekistan specialists. The Uzbekistan delegation discussed this issue with the leadership of Kuwait Agriculture Company, Gulf Care Trade, AlJaber Group Holding, NBTC Group, Me Career, Brunel Energy Kuwait, Diversity Tech, and Courtyard by Marriott Hotel. Topics included establishing language and professional training centers, candidate selection competitions, and other related matters. Uzbekistan representatives will nominate qualified candidates based on Kuwaiti employer requests.

Discussions took place regarding investments by Al Tijaria company in promising projects in Uzbekistan related to real estate, agriculture, tourism, and infrastructure development. As reported in Kuwaiti newspapers, the Uzbek side emphasized that these sectors offer significant investment opportunities.
The upcoming 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference set to take place in Samarkand in 2025, has also attracted great interest among Kuwaitis. The Uzbekistan – Kuwait Business Forum, scheduled for February 16 at the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is expected to strengthen ties between the two countries.
