Representatives of the Italian delegation emphasize that relations have reached a completely new level

This is also reflected in the fact that Uzbekistan is taking broad support measures for investors from partner countries to operate in our country.
This was also specifically recognized by representatives of the delegation that recently visited our country, led by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Italy, Mrs. Giorgia Meloni.
We present the views of the representatives of the Italian delegation on the negotiations with the participation of the leaders of the two countries, which took place at the Congress Center in Samarkand.
Massimo SCHIRO, Chairman of the Italian Export Credit Agency SACE:
– When your President paid an official visit to Italy two years ago, relations between the two countries reached a completely new level. A joint declaration on the establishment of strategic partnership relations was also adopted. A number of documents aimed at expanding multifaceted cooperation have borne fruit. The next return visit was also effective in all respects. It plays an important role in strengthening trade, economic, investment and export relations between Italy and Uzbekistan. The results are also visible in the increasing number of enterprises established in Uzbekistan with Italy. The growth in export volumes is also a result of this cooperation. In this regard, it is necessary to separately recognize the work being done in Uzbekistan to introduce free market mechanisms, conduct business, ensure healthy competition and the inviolability of private property, and support entrepreneurship.
Stefano CORNIATI, Rector of the Polytechnic University of Turin, Italy:
– We have signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of energy with institutions in our field. This cooperation is of great importance in the field of scientific research. We also intend to create a new scientific and research laboratory in cooperation with specialists from both countries. At the same time, we plan to exchange experience in the industrial sector. We also intend to establish cooperation in increasing mutual knowledge on the rational use of energy and water resources. I would like to express my gratitude to the leaders of the two countries who support us in this process. By the way, I should also note that the agreements reached within the framework of this high-level visit support plans to launch a branch of the University of Tuscia in your country, as well as bilateral diploma programs with the universities of Pisa, Trento, Roma Tre and Ca' Foscari.
Andrea BENVEDUTI, Senior Vice President of Ansaldo Energia, Italy:
– The large-scale work being done in your country to increase the sustainability of the energy system and increase the share of “green energy” in the network is noteworthy. The plan to build new “green capacities” in the future and sharply increase the share of renewable energy is to be welcomed. It is gratifying that solar and wind power plants are being commissioned in the regions of the country.
We have signed a memorandum of understanding with the Uzatom Agency. We are very pleased with this. This agreement will take our cooperation in the technological sphere to a new level. We also invite other enterprises in our country to cooperate. We hope that these relations will be long-term and beneficial.
