The President of Uzbekistan meets with the Premier of the State Council of China

Issues of expanding multifaceted practical cooperation were considered, primarily in the trade and economic, financial, and investment, as well as humanitarian spheres.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Head of State warmly congratulated the Premier of the State Council of China and the entire Chinese people on the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, as well as on the successful holding of the SCO summit in Tianjin.
It was emphasized that thanks to the political will and joint efforts of the leaders of the two countries, relations between Uzbekistan and China have reached the level of an all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership in a new era and “mature” multifaceted cooperation.
Last year, trade turnover reached $14 billion and continues to grow steadily. The potential to increase this figure to $20 billion was noted, including through expanding supplies and ensuring a balance between exports and imports.
For these purposes, it was also proposed to establish a joint Center for Quantum Metrology and a Regional Center for Industrial Standardization in Uzbekistan to harmonize norms and certify products based on Chinese requirements.
The portfolio of joint projects exceeds $60 billion.
In preparation for the current visit, a package of new project proposals was formed in the areas of green energy, geology, chemistry, deep processing of rare-earth metals, coal chemistry, modernization and digitalization of transport infrastructure, agriculture and water management, seed production, and agrivoltaics.
It was proposed to establish the Uzbekistan – China Center for Artificial Intelligence Development to promote scientific research and support promising startups.
Issues of deepening practical cooperation with China’s leading banking and financial institutions were also considered.
High appreciation was expressed for the results of the meeting of the special Subcommittee on Poverty Reduction and the second Forum of Regions, held this year in Uzbekistan.
Practical work is underway on the project for the construction of the strategic Uzbekistan – Kyrgyzstan – China railway, including the involvement of Uzbekistan contracting organizations.
The signing of the Agreement on the mutual establishment of cultural centers during the current visit was noted with satisfaction.
This year, the second Education Forum will be held in Uzbekistan. For the first time, a Vocational Education Forum was held in Chongqing, and the Uzbekistan – China Alliance in this area was established. Luban Workshops will be opened in the regions of Uzbekistan.
The fruitful activities of the Confucius Institutes in Tashkent and Samarkand were highlighted.
The parties also supported a further increase in the number of flights and the intensification of tourism exchanges.
In conclusion, the President of Uzbekistan invited the Premier of the State Council of China to pay an official visit to Uzbekistan.
