The President of Uzbekistan holds a meeting with the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan

Current issues of further strengthening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Japan, expanding trade and investment cooperation, and promoting joint projects were reviewed.
The Head of State noted with satisfaction the dynamic growth of Japanese direct investments in Uzbekistan’s economy. Over the past few years, the number of joint ventures has increased tenfold, and the total portfolio of ongoing projects has exceeded $20 billion.
Particular attention was paid to strengthening trade and investment ties and deepening industrial cooperation in areas such as alternative energy, decarbonization, critical raw materials, and more.
The importance of establishing a ministerial-level intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation to advance joint programs and projects was emphasized.
An agreement was reached to develop an action program to strengthen business ties, with the active participation of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and the Japan Association for Trade with Russia and NIS (ROTOBO).
