The President of Uzbekistan advocates for expanding cooperation with the Japan Bank for International Cooperation

Current issues of expanding the strategic partnership with this leading financial institution were discussed.

The positive dynamics of cooperation with the Bank in recent years were noted with satisfaction. The total project portfolio exceeded $5 billion and covers petrochemicals, energy, telecommunications, infrastructure, light industry, and other sectors.

Particular attention is paid to the high-quality preparation of new projects and to improving the effectiveness of ongoing projects valued at over $10 billion across energy, transport, IT infrastructure development, healthcare system modernization, and other priority areas.

The importance of expanding investment to support public-private partnership projects in the social sector, as well as to develop the private sector, was emphasized.

In turn, Governor Nobumitsu Hayashi highly appreciated the results of the partnership and expressed his support for the program of large-scale reforms being implemented in New Uzbekistan.
